Kevin was first influenced to play drums by watching his older
brother and by listening to Rick Allen from Def Leppard at the age of 3. His
grandfather bought him and his brother their first drum kit to share at age
4. Kevin got involved in Elementary School music classes, boys choir, and general
music education courses. In Middle School, he got involved in Concert Band in
which he played clarinet and percussion.
Outside of school, he met bass player Mike Woodell and they began writing original
music together. In High School, he pursued 3 seasons of regular marching band,
2 seasons of winter drum line where he performed in the Winterguard International
World Championships in Dayton, Ohio. At this convention, he met Vic Firth, renowned
drum stick manufacturer. After completing 3 Semesters of concert band and 4
semesters of jazz band, Kevin started his first garage band and would play in
various other bands before being a founding member of Method To Madness. Kevin
has done studio recording work and session work for Blue Dahlia, Next Best Thing,
Dream Within and various others.
Kevin's drumming influences include but are not limited to: Neal Peart, Carter Beauford, Dennis Chambers, Akira Jimbo, and Stewart Copeland. His musical influences include; Rush, Buddy Rich Big Band, Dream Theater, Oldies and Motown.
Kevin hopes to continue to better himself as a musician and play music as a living. He aspires to have his music played over the airwaves to be listened to and appreciated.
